When Considering Regional Centers, Eb5 Investors Should Investigate the Projects
If you have decided to use the eb5 visa at a regional center to get into the United States, the process is just beginning. Your next step will be to choose the regional center that you think is best for you. Considering that there are currently more than 50 centers, eb5 visa holders typically have no problem finding one that suits their needs. One of the many you can select is located in a bustling, important city.
The New York City Regional Center has obvious benefits derived from being in the center of everything. As you likely know, the city has tremendous opportunities regarding the arts, entertainment, education, business, and real estate. You will never run out of things to do here, and that carries over to the project in which you invest your funds.
Funding a successful project is important. This will make it likely that you see a return on your investment. Of all the available regional centers, eb5 investors should be attracted to the ones that have a solid business plan. This often means that you can retire early and just enjoy being in the United States with any family you brought. Already being in a busy city that has it all might help you enjoy your life of leisure, should you choose to live in the area.
The main projects that NYCRC fund have to do with real estate. Experienced private developers are often involved, and in all projects, the money from several investors is pooled together to have the greatest impact. Common projects that the NYCRC is involved with include mixed use development, retail stores, hotels, offices, restaurants, and warehouses. The variety of the buildings can ensure that when it comes to centers, eb5 investors will not be bored at this one.
Though this center is rather new, having been approved in 2008, its professionals are sensitive to the needs of investors. If you are interested in this center, officials are ready to answer all your questions, give you a tour before you invest in any projects, refer you to experienced immigration attorneys, give you constant updates, and give you the information needed when it comes to the often complex task of filing a tax return. In general, those in charge at the NYCRC want to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied with choosing their center as a place for your investment.
When it comes to regional centers, eb5 investors are a hot commodity. You are needed to help fund projects large and small, and when you lend your money to a regional center, you should know that it is usually going to a great endeavor. While there is no guarantee that you will receive a return on investment, know that if you do not make money, that means the center does not, either. Thus, most regional centers will try to make sure that your money goes as far as possible. Selecting the one with the project you are most interested in is usually the best way to be satisfied with your decision.

There are at least 70 Regional Centers in operation with 5,000 visas to go around. The eb5 investor visa continues to grow in popularity and, though it is not a risk at this time, I think it would be a true shame if the investors options were limited and an influx of American jobs lost due to a lack of visas to go around. Here is hoping the numbers get expanded as demand increases.
Yes, I could not agree with this post more. It seems that too often people looking to immigrate to the US perceive that all eb5 regional centers are created equal. Certainly a regional center in new york city will provide a high quality and abundant resources. The only catch is that if a foreign investor wanted to invest half the amount to get an eb5 investor visa, he could choose a regional center in an area that needs investment more desperately. These areas only require 500K, but still that's pretty steep if you're living somewhere that you don't like.
